Nice-looking chicks! And there's nothing like fresh-laid eggs. As a kid, one of my joys was picking eggs on grandma's farm even if some of the hens pecked my hands! :)
What a variety of sizes! We had chickens when I was very young...can remember it being really something to find one with a double yolk. And every now and then we found one where the shell was not hard...do you ever have that happen. I don't know what causes it. Have never thought to look it up.
EGGS! EGGS! The French Marans lay the dark ones and the Buff Orpingtons lay the lighter ones. I think they are so pretty.
